Dr Payam Nikpoor

Dr Payam Nikpoor is a urogynaecologist and pelvic reconstruction surgeon. 

​

Payam has a Persian background where he obtained his primary medical degree and moved to Australia in 2007. 

Payam started his training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Adelaide and moved to Melbourne to subspecialise in the field of “urogynaecology”.

​

During his 3 years of fellowship training in urogynaecology he worked at Mercy Hospital for Women and Monash Health.

 

Currently, a fellow of Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) and a Certified Urogynaecologist (CU), he works as a consultant urogynaecologist in Monash Health Dandenong Hospital.

 

In this position he runs Pelvic Floor and Perineal clinics with regular operating lists. Payam is involved in teaching and training of junior medical staff and trainees.

In his private practice he consults at Waverley Private Hospital and Cabrini Hospital with regular operating lists at these two sites.

​

Payam has strong affiliation with Urogynaecological Society of Australasia (UGSA), Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) and International Urogynaecological Association (IUGA).

 

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his young family, gardening and reading popular science topics.
