Dr Payam Nikpoor is an experienced gynaecologist, urogynaecologist, and pelvic reconstructive surgeon specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic floor disorders, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and complex gynaecological conditions.

Dr Nikpoor has a Persian background and obtained his primary medical degree before relocating to Australia in 2007. He completed specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Adelaide and subsequently undertook advanced subspecialty training in urogynaecology and pelvic floor reconstruction in Melbourne. His training across multiple tertiary hospitals, together with mentorship from internationally recognised surgeons, has provided him with extensive expertise in advanced pelvic floor and reconstructive surgery.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) and a Certified Urogynaecologist (CU). Dr Nikpoor currently practices as a Consultant Urogynaecologist at Monash Health, Dandenong Hospital, where he leads pelvic floor and perineal clinics, performs regular surgical operating lists, and is actively involved in teaching and supervising junior doctors and specialist trainees.

In private practice, Dr Nikpoor consults at Waverley Private Hospital and Cabrini Hospital (Malvern), providing comprehensive assessment and personalised treatment options for women with pelvic floor and gynaecological concerns.
​
Dr Nikpoor is a member of the International Continence Society (ICS), the International Urogynecological Association (IUGA), and the Urogynaecological Society of Australasia (UGSA), and has served on the UGSA Board of Directors since 2025.

Outside of clinical practice, he enjoys spending time with his young family, cycling, gardening, and reading popular science.
